Hyderabad, Dec 4: Minister for Secondary Education D Manikya Vara Prasada Rao on Monday said the government has decided to reintroduce the state syllabus in 6,500 Government high schools. The Minister told newsmen that the government decision comes after considering the opinions of educationists, experts and stakeholders.The minister said the stakeholders favoured replacing the Cbse lessons with the state syllabus as the teachers' skills were inadequate to teach Cbse syllabus efficiently.

“We have sought the opinion of students, parents, teacher MLCs, MLAs and teachers unions. All of them have unanimously opined that Cbse syllabus should be replaced with the state syllabus,” he said.The opinion leaders said the students are also finding it difficult to comprehend the lessons taught in English medium from class VI after studying in Telugu medium up to Class V. He said the government will prepare textbooks on the lines of NCERT and train the teachers to acquire the teaching skills needed to handle Central syllabus.The government will also conduct special English classes for teachers to improve their skills.
