No decision yet on SRC: Azad

Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday stated that the government has not taken any decision on formation of second States Reorganization Commission over the demand for formation of smaller states in the country.

Talking to media persons, Azad, who is also the in-charge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh, stated that the government would take a decision on second SRC only after the completion of consultation process with the allies of United Progressive Alliance Government. He also said the date for consultation process with UPA allies was yet to be finalized. “Once the date is finalised, the consultation process will begin and consensus on the issue will emerge,” Azad told.

Azad said that the Congress was committed to take an early decision on Telangana statehood issue and put an end to uncertainty in the state.
