Aamir Khan Productions is now working on a documentary about President Droupadi Murmu. The film will be directed by Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal. It will tell the story of Murmu from her early days in a small village in Odisha to becoming the first tribal President of India and only the second woman to hold the top post. The makers want to show her strength, simple living and years of public service.

The documentary was shot in her home village and some local people also took part in parts of the shoot. It will focus on what her leadership means for tribal communities and for women across the country. Aamir Khan Productions has made many films with social messages like Taare Zameen Par and Laapataa Ladies, so this project fits their style.

Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal has worked with Aamir Khan before. She directed Rubaru Roshni in 2019 which was also produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. That film shared real stories of people who faced violence and chose forgiveness. It was praised for its gentle and honest way of telling hard truths. For the Murmu documentary, Bhatkal will use a close and personal style to show key moments of her life.

The film will cover her time as a teacher, her work in Odisha politics, her role as Governor and then her rise to Rashtrapati Bhavan. The team wants viewers to see her journey as a story of hope and change. The documentary is expected to reach a wide audience and start new talks about representation and service in public life.
