Peddi (2026) Movie: What's Behind

Ram Charan-Buchi Babu Sana's Peddi is releasing in a spectacular manner on 4 June 2026. Expectations are soaring on the film as the film is a sports based entertainer and Ram Charan is starring in such genre for the first time. Ever since Buchi Babu Sana created a sensation with his debut film Uppena, people waited eagerly for his second project and he managed to convince Ram Charan to do Peddi. Peddi OTT rights have been bagged by Netflix and streaming will be after the completion of its theatrical run.

To the top of it, despite being a second film director, he managed to convince Oscar winner AR Rahman to score tunes for a Telugu film and the songs already turned out to be chartbusters. Ram Charan's dance moves went viral on social media. Ram Charan transformed his look for this film and it is becoming a talking point.

Janhvi Kapoor is adding the glamor touch to the film while Shruti Haasan did a special song. Divyenndu Sharma of Mirzapur fame is making his debut in Tollywood. The film also has a star studded cast of Jagapathi Babu, Shiva Rajkumar, Boman Irani in key roles.

Ram Charan after creating a sensation with Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR and won the accolades at international level, failed to set the screens on fire with his next project Game Changer with ace director Shankar. The film turned out to be a disaster. To the top of it, even his cameo in his father Chiranjeevi's Acharya failed to power the film. Can Ram Charan reverse the trend and flex his muscles to score success at the box office as Peddi? Can Ram Charan with Peddi revive the sinking Tollywood market and breath a fresh lease of life. Let us findout all that in the review and what Ram Charan offered to movie lovers with Peddi.

Peddi (2026) Movie: Story Review

Peddi story revolves around a youngster who fights for recognition for his remote village which was not even recognised by Government of India. Peddi (Ram Charan) works as a contract labor and represents anyone who wins him over the action in the sport of Cricket.

Peddi's life takes a darstic turn due to shocking happenings and where this leads to, what role Achiyamma (Janhvi Kapoor), Ram Bujji (Divyenndu Sharma), Appalasoori (Jagapathi Babu), Sports Authority of India Chairman Baiswal (Boman Irani), renowned wrestler Gournaidu (Shiva Rajkumar), Sisodiya (Ravi Kishan), Subhadraraju (Rao Ramesh), Bhadra (Tarak Ponnappa), Ammapalli (Ashutosh Rana) and others form rest of the narration.

Peddi (2026) Movie: Artists Review

Ram Charan virtually lived in the role. He stuns with his transformation in physique as a cricketer and wrestler. He stunned with his emotional performance and at times expressed himself through his eyes. He delivered emotional dialogues with ease and impresses with his body language and screen presence. He danced like never before in dances, and the choreography elevated his dance moves to the next level. He carried the film on his shoulders and elevated the scenes to the next level with his performance.

Janhvi Kapoor got an inconsequential role and is confined to irresponsible glamor treat. Her character lacked the basic character. Jagapathi Babu performed well in an emotional role tailormade for him. Divyenndu Sharma's role starts in an interesting manner but fizzles out as time progresses.

Shiva Rajkumar is good in the role of a wrestler. He made his presence felt. Others like ,Boman Irani, Ravi Kishan, Satya, John Vijay, Ajay Ghosh,Upendra Limaye, Aadukalem Naren,Tarak Ponnappa,Mahesh Achanta performed according to their characters..

Peddi (2026) Movie: Technicians Review

Peddi story is penned by Buchi Babu Sana. The narration starts with the quest for talented sportsmen after debacle of the country in the Olympics. Ram Charan is introduced in a mass manner and the love track follows along with the buildup to the rivalry. The entire first half is loaded with mass elements, but the runup to the interval and interval bang though predictable, excites all setting the tone for the second half.

All the cricket matches though shot impressively lacked the wow factor except for the presence of Ram Charan. There are many actors in the film and they just appear and go in an insignificant manner. The moment Janhvi is introduced, it brings down the intensity and pace of the narration impacting the overall output.

The second half also starts in the similar manner but the emotions that appear drives the story forward. In the process of elevating the emotions, the pace dipped drastically. The second half special song makes one wonder whether Buchi Babu Sana is set to end the film on a predictable note, but he comes with a surprise here and from then on the screenplay takes a new turn.

Ram Charan's impactful screenpresence takes viewers on an emotional ride till the end of the film.Ram Charan's performance in the climax moves all to the core and the film then ends on a predictable tone.

Oscar winner Rahman AR scored the music. After along time he came up with foottapping numbers and sent a message that Rahman is back. The songs are well choreographed and shot in the backdrop of breathtaking visuals. He made an impact with his background music.

Ratnavelu turned the film into an appealing one with his cinematography. He showed the rural atmosphere quite well and the sports scenes in an adequate manner.

The editing of Naveen Nooli is ok but one gets a feeling that it is not smooth as few scenes end in an abrupt manner. Some of the dialogues are powerful and hardhitting but consistency is missing. Vriddhi Cinemas production values are quite good.

Peddi (2026) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Peddi turns out to be a powerful emotional sports based entertainer. Ram Charan's sincerity, dedication and hardwork is seen on the screen in his performance. He powered the film to new heights with his performance. Buchi Babu Sana loaded the film with mass elements for more than 75% of the film keeping in view , Ram Charan's stardom and fan following. He elevated Ram Charan's style and mannerisms on the screen. But this at times impacted the story and narration. However, in the second half, he showed his mettle during that last 25% with thought provoking dialogues, natural and realistic emotions and strong message to the society. Screenplay turned out tobe decent and Buchi Babu Sana tried to elevate it with the shock factor. A little finetuning of the script and doing away with unnecessary and illogical scenes, Peddi would have got more firepower. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 3 star rating for Peddi.
