Vanda Devullu (2026) Movie: Artists Review

Swasika Vijay virtually lived in the role. She elevated the scenes with her screen presence. She got powerful dialogues and delivered it in a powerful and impactful manner. She showed the love and care towards her sons and also her concern to give good life for them. At the same time, she expressed the feelings of a widowed woman and the trauma she faces living alone and how the society and men view her.

Ajay Dhishan got meaty role and did justice to it. The transformation in his role is shown in a natural manner. He reacts wildly as a youngster coming to know about her mother's wish and then reacts differently after realizing his mistake after he grows up. Sakthi did well in the role of the youngest brother.

Balaji Sakthiwel is good in the role of an influential person. Vijay Antony made his presence felt and his dialogues and mannerisms are natural and realistic. He elevated the scenes with his emotions and expressions. Others like Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Padini Kumar, Jenson Dhivakar, Bucks, Vinodhini, Thamarai, Kodangi Vadivelu, Muthualagi, Saratha, Sabitha Roy, Abinaya, Moorthy, Subramania Siva performed their roles accordingly.

Vanda Devullu (2026) Movie: Technicians Review

Vanda Devullu story is penned by Sasi. Sasi, came with a story drawing inspiration from real life incidents. He did not waste anytime and stuck to the main point. Many films with such plot came in various languages, but Sasi is supported by the powerful performance of Swasika Vijay and the screen presence of Vijay Antony.

The entire first half showed the struggles of the widowed woman, her quest to give better life for her sons and at times one gets a feeling that it was overdone and the story is going nowhere as the screenplay turns repetitive. The second half starts in the similar manner and just when viewers are left to wonder, where the film is heading, the introduction of Vijay Antony turned out tobe the added advantage.

He with his screen presence took the film to another level. The screenplay also turned racy and after the predictable pre climax, the climax turned out to be different. Sasi tried to send message to the society about the plight of the widowed women and how the society and especially in the villages view them and what sufferings they undergo silently. He should be commended for selecting a topic and highlighted the problem but he could have been little more creative in narrating them.

S. B. Darshan Kirlosh with his cinematography showed the rustic village atmosphere in a captivating manner giving a natural and realistic feel. Balaji Sriram came up with emotional song which is situational while the background music is in sync with the storyline. The background score takes viewers into the story. Editing of Harish Yuvaraj turned out to be a mixed bag. At times it is crispy while most of the times, he left many repetitive scenes unattended. Dialogues are natural and hard-hitting and thought provoking. Production values are good.

Vanda Devullu Movie: Advantages

  • Swasika Vijay's performance
  • Vijay Antony's screen presence
  • Hardhitting Dialogues

Vanda Devullu Movie: Disadvantages

  • Predictable Story
  • Repetitive Scenes

Vanda Devullu (2026) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Vanda Devullu turns out to be a predicable but decent entertainer. Sasi tried to give a powerful message to the society and he is supported by the stellar performance from Swasika Vijay and the screen presence of Vijay Antony. However predictable plot, slow pace and repetitive scenes in the first half, impacted the film's output. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.25 rating for Vanda Devullu.
