One Festival, Two Different Box-Office Strategies

Sankranthi 2027 is shaping up to be an interesting box-office battle, but not every film entering the festive race is playing the same game. While some releases are carrying huge theatrical expectations, others are reportedly being made with more manageable budgets and recovery targets.

Chiranjeevi's Kaaka and Venkatesh-Kalyanram's January 12 Vidudala are expected to be the major attractions of the season. Given the star power involved and the theatrical stakes, both films will need strong box-office performances to meet expectations.

On the other hand, Sree Vishnu's Family Pack and Sharwanand's George Krish are said to be light-hearted entertainers aimed at youth. With relatively reasonable theatrical bets, these films may not need numbers on the same scale to emerge as successful ventures.

Sai Dharam Tej's Sambarala Yeti Gattu is also announced for a Sankranthi release, adding another film to the competition.

The interesting part of Sankranthi 2027 is that the biggest film in terms of collections may not necessarily be the most successful in terms of returns. While star-driven films will face bigger expectations, smaller bets could also make the most of the festive season.
