Hyderabad, Jan 16: Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Saturday gave a green signal for the privatisation of Andhra co-operative spinning mill at Guntakal in Anantapur district.Minister for Mines Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said, Chief Minister took this decision at a review meeting convened to look into the problems of Anantapur district at Secretariat with officials concerned on Saturday.

He said the closure of Andhra co-operative spinning mill and the problems of workers came to the notice of Chief Minister while reviewing the pending works in Anantapur district.Responding to the plight of spinning mill workers problems, the Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to take immediate measures for privatisation of the mill.He also suggested the officials to invite tenders for maintaining the mill under the private sector.

He directed the officials to release Rs 5.10 crores towards the outstanding dues of workers.According  to Balineni Srinivasa Reddy,  the Chief Minister was gracious  enough to  suggest the officials to sanction 10 acres of land at nominal price to the workers of spinning mill. A housing colony for the spinning mill workers is proposed in this  piece of ten acres of land.
