Hyderabad, Jan 12: Minority students who are pursuing self-financing courses like MBA, MCA, M.Tech, Pharmacy and so on would get Rs 20,000 each as an interim arrangement towards fee reimbursement and payment of scholarships. This was announced by Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday after a review meeting on Minority Welfare in which Mr Rosaiah instructed officials to release Rs 60 crore as the interim arrangement till the time the committee constituted to study the issue of scholarships and fee reimbursement for self-finance courses submits its recommendations.

According to Minister for Minority Welfare and Sarva Shiksha Abhyan Ahmedullah Syed, about 8,816 minority students would benefit from the decision.The Chief Minister also ordered the immediate release of Rs five crore to clear salaries of the staff working in the computer centres and Urdu libraries under the aegis of Urdu Academy since these staff had not been paid since the last three months due to financial problems
