Fears are increasing whether Kangana Ranaut's upcoming entertainer Manikarnika The Queen of Jhansi is going in Deepika Padukone's Padmavat way.

Movie lovers can never forget the controversy and protests surrounded Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavat. Makers were forced to change the film title from Padmavati to Padmavat and crew underwent mental trauma with physical threats since its launch.

Now Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika helmed by Krish too is landing in a similar controversy. Suresh Mishra, president of Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha asked the Rajasthan government to stop the shooting of  the film in three days and warned of dire consequences if they failed to do so.

He accused the makers of shooting a love song on Jhansi Lakshmi Bai and a British agent. He also suspected the makers drawing inspiration from the controversial book 'Rani' written by Jaishree Misra which was banned in the country.

The filmmakers are yet to respond on the issue. The film's shooting is progressing at Malsisar town in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The filmmakers earlier shot important scenes at Amer Fort in Jaipur and Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
