Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Adirindhi is finally hitting screens today across Telugu states. Prior to its release, the movie faced hardships from the censor board's officials. As we know, the Tamil version of the film Mersal embroiled into a huge controversy with some dialogues vocalized by Vijay targeted directly to BJP government's policies.
Vijay questioned flaws of GST and digital Indian campaign initiated by Modi which irked BJP's top brass. Adirindhi was earlier planned for release on September 21 as a Deepavali gift for the audience. Since, censor officials troubled the makers, finally the film is seeing light today.
Mersal is learnt to have minted Rs.150+ cross gross collections and stood as the biggest blockbuster in Kollywood this year. Vijay desperately in need of a hit in Telugu for a long time. Adirindhi may fulfill his wish. The film has been directed by Atlee which has Kajal, Samantha and Nitya Menon in lead actresses roles.
