Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu and his MLAs who returned from Maharashtra said on Wednesday they went to Maharashtra seeking justice.

``We did neither provoke them nor fight with  them,’’  he added.Speaking on the Assembly premises in front of the Gandhi Statue after staging a dharna, he said as long as the TDP was in power the Maharashtra Government did not dare build any project on the River Godavari.

We  need to bring to light the illegal constructions of Maharashtra Government so that the Central Water Commission  will take the appropriate action,  the former chief minister observed.

If Babli project is constructed then the whole of northern Telangana will become a desert. About 18 lakh hectares of land in North Telangana region will be affected due to the Babli project,  he averred.

He lashed out at the Government for their incompetence in dealing with such a serious matter.  The treatment meted out to us in Maharashtra was  worse.  I think even the criminal will be treated in a better manner, the TDP chief lamented.

When the police asked us to get into the police vans we thought that they were providing us police protection but  instead they arrested us,  the TDP chief noted.After the dharna , the TDP chief Nara Chandrababu and the legislators took out a rally to NTR Ghat.
