Congress Mlas G Srikant Reddy and C Adinarayana Reddy on Monday sought more time from Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar to reply to the show-cause notices issued by him on the disqualification petition filed against them by the party.

Talking to media persons after meeting the Deputy Speaker, the two MLAs said that they would need some more time to offer their explanations on the allegations raised against them.

Mr Adinarayana Reddy said that Deputy Speaker accepted their requests and gave them till Tuesday to file their replies.

Denying the allegations of anti-party activities raised against them, the MLA said that the Congress had submitted newspaper clippings and video footage to support its charge. These will be answered, Mr Adinarayana Reddy said.

Meanwhile another Congress MLA and former Minister Konda Surekha has sent her explanation to Deputy Speaker through her personal assistant. The fourth MLA who has been issued the show-cause notice, Amarnath Reddy, is yet to respond to the show-cause notice.

Deputy Speaker issued show-cause notices based on the complaint lodged by Congress Legislature Party which sought disqualification of four MLAs under Anti-Defection Law as they were working against the interests of party and campaign in the by-elections on the behalf of YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
