Condemning the attack on the residence of Minister for Information and Public Relations J Geetha Reddy in Marredpally on State Formation Day by Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader Harish Rao and his supporters, Chief Whip Batti Vikramarka on Tuesday demanded an apology from the TRS MLA.
Talking to media persons at the CLP, Mr Vikramarka said the TRS leaders, who promised to give the Chief Minister’s post to Dalit candidate in event of formation of Telangana state, have now attacked a Dalit Minister in the Cabinet.
Terming the incident as condemnable, the Chief Whip stated that the true colours of TRS towards women and Dalits have been exposed with the incident.
Mr Vikramarka advised TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao not to provoke students and people by making emotional statements on Telangana state.
Meanwhile, Government Whip S Sailajanath condemned the TRS for observing the State Formation Day as ‘Betrayal Day’.
This incident proves that the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe people would not be safe in the event of formation of separate Telangana state, Mr Sailajanath stated.
He hoped the Justice B N Srikrishna Commission would give a favourable decision stressing on the unification of state.
