Is Brahmastra 2 happening? New reports suggest producer Namit Malhotra is set to take Ayan Mukerji’s Astraverse forward with Brahmastra 2. According to reports, Malhotra revealed the update during an interview at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas. However, an official announcement on Brahmastra 2 is still awaited. The news comes as Malhotra promotes his upcoming epic Ramayana at the same event.
Brahmastra Part One: Shiva released in 2022 and was planned as a trilogy, but updates on the sequels have been scarce since then. Brahmastra 2 will reportedly continue the love story of Dev and Amrita, which was teased in the climax of Part 1. In October 2025, Ayan Mukerji posted photos from a mountain vacation with a script, sparking fan speculation that he was working on Brahmastra 2.
Mukerji did not confirm the speculation at the time. Ranbir Kapoor also dropped a major hint about the sequel on Alia Bhatt’s birthday. He said, “It is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time, It is definitely happening. We haven’t really announced much of it, but then some really interesting announcements will be made soon regarding Brahmastra 2.”
Meanwhile, the team of Ramayana has started its global promotional campaign at CinemaCon 2026. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Producer Namit Malhotra called Ramayana an “Avatar meets Gladiator moment” for Indian cinema. Along with Ramayana, Yash’s Toxic also made its way to CinemaCon, giving KVN Productions a strong presence at the event.
