Ugly Story revolves around a person who loves a girl desperately and gets obsessed with the one side love even after her marriage and how he deals with the consequences and the aftermath events.

Karthik (Nandu) is obsessed with love for Neha (Avika Gor). But Karthik gets a huge shock when he comes across Gautam (Raviteja Mahadhasyam). What is the shock and what role her uncle (Sivaji Raja) played form the rest of the narration.

Nandu came up with terrific performance on the screen in the role of a psycho. Infact he virtually lived in the role and maintained the intensity carrying the film on his shoulders. He came up with natural and realistic performance and made an impact with his dialogue delivery, mannerisms, emotions and expressions.

Avika Gor performed well in the role of a helpless girl and she showed the fear in her eyes and expressions. She emoted well and made viewers feel for her. Raviteja Mahadhasyam played the role of the lover as per the characterisation.

Sivaji Raja played the role of a typical father quite well. Pragya Nayan played a small role of an inspector. Others performed according to their roles.

Ugly Story (2026) Movie: Technicians Review

Ugly Story is written by Pranava Swaroop. He tried to elevate the role of a psycho who is obsessed even after the girl is married and the consequences in the aftermath of it. He told the story from the viewpoint and the angle of a psychopath and this may not appeal to all.

There are many scenes that may be uncomfortable for the viewers to watch, the violence and torture being one of them. He highlighted the darker side of the happenings in the lives of many women as many find it difficult to come forward and talk openly in public.

The story offered nothing much but Pranav Swaroop penned the story highlighting the characterisation of pyschopath and it may appeal only to few.

Shrie Saikumaar Daara with his cinematography gave a natural and realistic feel to the proceedings. He showed the locations using the camera angles in an apt manner. The background score of Shravan Bharadwaj elevated the scenes taking the intensity to new heights. The RR is quite good. Editing of Mithun Soma, Srikanth Patnaik. R could have been better. Dialogues are ok and production values are good.

Altogether, Ugly Story highlights the darker side of the happenings. Nandu came up with impactful performance and director Pranava Swaroop highlighted his character to the core. Other than that the film offers nothing new. Lack of real story, uni dimensional story and screenplay and slow pace, impacted the outcome. Pranava Swaroop highlights the darker side of the society and it turns out to be a bitter pill. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2.25 rating for Ugly Story.
