Pawan Kalyan, actor-politician, has reacted to the controversy surrounding the delay in censor certification of Vijay's film Jana Nayagan, stating that the government shouldn't be blamed. In an interview, Kalyan emphasized that the certification process is procedural and rules apply equally to everyone.

The film, initially scheduled for release on January 9, has been postponed indefinitely due to the delay. Pawan Kalyan attributes this to issues within the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), rather than any political influence. He cited his own film OG as an example, where despite being part of the ruling alliance, it received an 'A' certificate due to its violent content.

Pawan Kalyan questioned the Jana Nayagan team's decision to approach the courts, saying that once a matter enters the legal system, the outcome is no longer fully in their hands. He stressed that governance and film censorship are separate entities, and rules cannot be bent for anyone.

The CBFC had suggested several cuts, indicating a possible U/A certificate if changes were made. However, complaints about certain scenes led to the film being referred to a revising committee, causing further delays. Jana Nayagan stars Vijay, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
