3cops killed,14 hurt in landmine blast

Khammam,Nov13: Three policemen were killed on the spot and 14 others were injured in a Landmine blast near Kalemala of Malkangiri district in Orissa in the early hours of Friday.Malkangiri is in the northwest borders of Andhra Pradesh.Maoists who planted the Landmine in the road exploded while a CRPF Van was proceeding in that route.

The van went up in the air and overturned on the road under the impact of a thundering blast which was audible from a distance.A Deputy Commander,a sub- inspector of police and the van driver died instantaneously at the spot. The condition of the seven of the 14 injured jawans who were in the van is stated to be critical.All of them were shifted to the Government Hospital at Malkangiri.
