In the outbreak of coronavirus, the lives of the people across the world got affected drastically. Daily wage workers and those associated with the film industry suffered huge losses and they lost their livelihood.
Many Tollywood stars in the last couple of days came forward and donated generously. But the question is whether the stars solved the problems experienced by the poor in the 24 crafts? It seems no.
When the lockdown was announced, Kollywood stars at once tried to help them. Rajinikanth donated Rs 50 lakhs for the South India Film Employees Federation. Kamal Haasan also donated generously and he won the praises of all when he announced that he would throw open his house in Chennai for corona hospital to the government. Vijay Sethupathi donated 10 lakhs for the workers and Surya and Karthi donated 10 lakhs each for the Federation. Similarly, many Kollywood stars tried to help the workers.
This is in stark contrast to Tollywood stars. Rajasekhar came forward to help the poor workers. NTR announced 25 lakhs for the workers out of his 75 lakhs donation. Chiranjeevi announced Rs 1 crore to the workers.
Though other stars like Pawan Kalyan, Prabhas donated Rs 2crs and 4crs and others like Ram Charan, Allu Arjun donated Rs 1.25crs, 70lakhs and Nithin donated Rs 20 lakhs, many failed to solve the problems of the workers. Instead, all of them donated to CM relief fund or PM relief fund.
