Can Nani Be A Trendsetter?

Natural Star Nani’s success streak is disturbed with two back to back flops received last year in form of Krishnarjuna Yuddham and Devadas. Then did he decide to do only different genre scripts with versatile roles. Nani is now starring in Jersey romancing Sharadda Srinath under the direction of Gowtham Tinnanuri which is said to be a thoroughly sports based entertainer. 

In Jersey, Nani will be seen as middle aged cricketer who is on the verge of retirement but is keen to enter into the national team. First look poster and teaser generated tremendous interest. However, speculation is on whether Nani can buck the negative trend.

To be more grounded, sports centered entertainers failed to attract movie lovers in Tollywood unlike Bollywood. May it be, Golkonda High School or Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sithralu or Guru or Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu… many of such sports based scripts haven’t struck gold in Tollywood.  

 Nani is taking a huge risk, picked the cricket plot. Seems, Nani is having lot of confidence on the story and handed over the responsibility to Gowtham Tinnanuri. If Nani bucks the trend and scores a hit, then he can be a new trendsetter in Tollywood. Sources say the film apart from cricket also has good commercial elements to succeed.
