Kakatiya University Joint Action Committee convenor Sriram Shyam said Yadaiah’s self-immolation and the sacrifices of students, who died for T-cause, should open the eyes of political leaders.

He demanded that the MLAs and MPs resign to mount pressure on the Centre and State governments. Ruling Congress and Telugu Desam leaders are hesitating to visit their own constituencies as the Telangana agitators are targeting them.

The Telangana people plan to boycott the elected representatives belonging to Congress and Telugu Desam if they did not resign to their posts.

The leaders said they would intensify their agitation by organizing protests in front of elected representatives’ houses demanding their resignation. Some unidentified men damaged the statue of former chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at Kashibugga, Warangal.
