Jana Nayakudu (2026) Movie: Story Review

Jana Nayakudu story revolves around a middle aged person's desire to raise a young girl into a fearless woman to face the challenges in the society. Vetri (Vijay) is on a mission to raise young girl Vijji (Mamitha Baiju) as a fearless person. However she has her own problems and these are compounded when Vetri findsout that some unknown elements are out to eleminate her.

What is Vijji's problem, who are the unknown elements, how it is connected to Crime Reporter Kayal (Pooja Hegde), Vijji's father Srikanth (Gautam Menon),CM (Nassar), Amrish Pujari aka John Himler (Bobby Deol), Leela Rani (Priyamani) form the interesting part.

Jana Nayakudu (2026) Movie: Artists Review

Vijay did well in his role. The role is tailormade for him and he did full justice. However there is nothing much to rave about is role and performance. He followed the same template mannerisms, dialogue delivery and style statement and body language. After the passage of time, one gets a feeling that he just passed through the motions and artificiality crept in.

Pooja Hegde played the female lead and she did what was required from her. Her role is mostly insignificant. Mamitha Baiju played the all important role that is pivotal to the story and the proceedings. She is just ok with her performance. She failed to connect chords emotionally and elsewise.

Bobby Deol played the role of the antagonist. His role turned out to be a caricature and could be a meme fest. His character turned out to be weak. Prakash Raj is just ok with his performance. Priyamani, Nassar, Sunil and others completed the cast are turned into dummies.

Jana Nayakudu (2026) Movie: Technicians Review

Jana Nayagan aka Jana Nayakudu story is penned by H.Vinoth. Though he claimed that the film is not the remake of Bhagawanth Kesari and he took few scenes, most of the first half is similar to Bhagawanth Kesari except for few changes here and there. The first half starts with Vijay trying to raise his daughter without any fear and then the narration shifts to the introduction of the antagonist. The entire antagonist episode and there after looks silly and ridiculous to the core.

The substandard and poor graphics turned the scenes into a tedious watch. the first half turns out to be stale with no real high elements. The second half continues in the similar manner and the core soul and emotion of Bhagawanth Kesari's Beti Ko Sher Banao goes for a toss. The pre climax and climax turns out to be childish with video game like elements. One gets a feeling that even video games or TV serials have better graphics.

Anirudh Ravichander is known for his impactful works and he tuned the music and composed BGM for the film. However it turned out to be extremely disappointing as the songs failed to entertain and also not shot in an appealing manner. His background music failed to make any impact. He couldn't be blamed as the narration did not give him chance to do so. The editing of Pradeep Raghav turned out to be miserable. There are many scenes that tested the patience of the viewers. Had he used the editing scissors there wouldn't have been any film at all. The cinematography of Satyan Sooran became a disappointing affair. The dialogues failed to connect chords and most of them are politically motivated. Production values are below average.

Jana Nayakudu (2026) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether Jana Nayakudu turns out to be a soulless entertainer. H.Vinoth got the golden opportunity to direct Vijay's last film. Vijay put in sincere efforts and Vinoth drawing inspiration from Balakrishna's Bhagawanth Kesari came up with Jana Nayakudu. Instead of elevating the emotions to the next level and better than the original, Vinoth concentrated on elevating the heroism of Vijay and also promote his political ideology. This resulted in the film turning out into a half baked one. Even the elevation scenes failed to make an impact and Vinoth shockingly killed the soul of the original. He failed completely with his story, screenplay and direction. The so called changes he made to the original instead of adding value, diluted the essence of the film and the message it intended to give to the society. Jana Nayakudu is touted to be the farewell film for Vijay but it turned out to be a failed farewell. He deserved better rather than this crap. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2 rating for Jana Nayakudu.
