Warangal, Feb 5: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has allowed yet another students' meet, `Polikeka’ at Kakatiya University in Warangal scheduled for Feb 7.Responding to a writ petition filed by JAC member E Nageswar Rao, the Court on Friday directed the police to verify the identities of students and teachers before allowing them into the meeting. While according to permission to hold the Polikeka, the High Court made it clear that only students and lecturers be allowed to participate in the meeting.Earlier, the district administration rejected the Kakatiya University Joint action Committee (KU JAC) request to permit the ‘Polikeka’ on the varsity premises.

Superintendent of Police Shaw Nawaz Khasim said the police declined to permit the ‘polikeka’ apprehending unruly behaviour of the students on the campus.KU students went to Major Irrigation Minister P Laxmaiah’s house and damaged window panes and raised slogans against him. They confined Laxmaiah’s daughter-in-law Vysahli in a room, 15 days back, he said. In view of the law and order situation in the district, it was not possible for the police to accord permission to the students, Khasim added. The JAC members on Friday went to the SP’s office and sought permission to conduct polikeka. But the SP declined them the permission.
