Hyderabad, Jan 21: Describing the two-day district Collectors Conference held at Jubilee Hall as ‘meaningful’, Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Thursday called on the Collectors to instil confidence among the people so that they utilise the numerous welfare schemes being undertaken by the government.Mr Rosaiah exhorted the Collectors to speed up the implementation of the welfare and developmental programmes and improve the living conditions of the population.

 He told media persons after the conference that he had cautioned the Collectors against being slack in their approach towards implementation of the schemes initiated by the government and warned them that he would be closely monitoring the implementation of the decisions taken at the two-day conference.The Chief Minister said he would be available on the phone to the Collectors and they were free to contact him should they face any problems in carrying out the welfare activities.

He also said that he would call them if he needed any information from them.Mr Rosaiah told media persons that he would be touring at least one district of the state in a week so that he could understand the situation on the ground by interacting with the people.  As part of this, he announced that he would be visiting Srikakulam district on Saturday.
