Call to Muslims for support to T-movement

Hyderabad, Dec 29: Expressing solidarity with the Joint Action Committee, the Telangana Muslim Front (TMF) extended its support to the proposed bandh called by the JAC for December 30.Announcing this at a press conference here on Tuesday, TMF president Iftekhar Ahmed said that the backwardness of Muslims living in Telangana region was due to the suppression of their rights and Andhra Pradesh leaders had continuously neglected Muslims.

 He said Telangana, which has the highest density of Muslim population in Andhra Pradesh, belongs to everyone and not just Muslims.He also alleged that successive leaders from Andhra had encroached and ‘swallowed’ properties belong to the Muslim Wakf Board worth crores of rupees over the years. He called on the Muslim community to show solidarity with the Telangana statehood movement by saying that the rights of Muslims are best protected if a separate state is formed.
