The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Tuesday accused the Telugu Desam Party leaders of blackmailing Governor ESL Narasimhan on the issue of 'Cash for Vote' case.

Speaking to media persons here, Trs MLC Karne Prabhakar said that investigation agencies have got sufficient evidences which clearly proves the involvement of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the 'Cash for Vote' scam. However, the TDP leaders are trying to blackmail the Governor to prevent further action by the ACB against Naidu. He said that the Governor has been exercising his powers within the constitutional and legal framework. But by targeting the Governor through their statements, the TDP leaders are trying to save Naidu, he alleged.

Prabhakar said there was no question of Naidu escaping legal action in the 'Cash for Vote' case. The AP Chief Minister has also failed to get support from the Central leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the same reason, Naidu is pressing on invocation of Section 8 of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act to transfer the Law and Order powers in Hyderabad to the Governor.

The Trs MLC also alleged that the fourth accused in the case, Muthaiah, is being provided security by the AP Police. Muthaiah is being provided security by AP's Home Minister China Rajappa on the directions of Naidu. He said it was utter shame that an accused in a major case is being shielded by the AP Government.

Prabhakar also clarified that the 'Cash for Vote' case was not related to the people of both the Telugu States. However, he alleged that the TDP leaders were trying to highlight the case as an inter-State dispute. He also made it clear that the Telangana Government had no role to play in the case as it was being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
