Yash Requests To Support Ramayana and Avoid Nitpicking VFX

At Ramayana’s Hyderabad promotional event, Yash urged audiences to watch the ambitious mythological epic with an open mind instead of focusing excessively on visual effects flaws. Playing Ravana and serving as a producing partner, the actor said India must support filmmakers willing to take Indian cinema onto the global stage.
Yash praised producer Namit Malhotra’s ambition, revealing that their conversations about raising Indian cinema’s international standing inspired him to join the project. He also appreciated director Nitesh Tiwari’s straightforward filmmaking approach. Yash warned that discouraging ambitious productions over minor technical shortcomings could make filmmakers hesitant to attempt similar projects.
The film’s earlier character glimpses sparked online debate, particularly over the visual effects and Ranbir Kapoor’s appearance as Lord Rama. Some viewers criticised the demon characters for looking computer generated, while subsequent promotional footage drew more positive reactions from sections of the audience. The makers face the challenge of balancing visual spectacle with audience expectations for this epic.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Yash as Ravana. Reportedly mounted on a ₹4,000 crore budget, the two part adaptation of Valmiki’s epic is scheduled to begin with Part One on November 5, 2026. Its scale and international ambitions have made it one of Indian cinema’s most closely watched projects.
