As was expected, senior leader and former Home minister T Devender Goud’s entry into the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has hit a roadblock.

Though the TDP president, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, is in favour of Mr Devender Goud’s ‘home coming’, a senior leader of the party, Mr Talasani Srinivas Yadav, has put certain conditions for the entry of the former Home minister. Mr Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday held a meeting with party leaders from Telangana region mainly to focus on the entry of Mr Goud.

During the meeting, Mr Talasani Sinivas Yadav is understood to have raised certain objections to allow Mr Goud to come back to the party fold. He is stated to have told the party boss that Mr Goud should apologise for the remarks that he (Mr Goud) had made after he left the party. Mr Goud had deserted the TDP only for his personal gains and that he is coming back to the TDP now for the same reason, Mr Yadav is understood to have remarked during the meeting chaired by Mr Naidu.

Mr Yadav even went to the extent of stating that Mr Goud’s remarks on the party during the recent Assembly polls had damaged the TDP’s prospects. The TDP chief had concurred with the opinion of Mr Yadav that Mr Goud had left the party when it was passing through a tough time.

However, Mr Naidu reportedly did not pay much heed to the remarks of Mr Yadav’s complaints and is understood to have made it quite clear that Mr Goud had every right to stage a come back to the TDP.  Perhaps irked at this, Mr Yadav did not speak to the media after emerging from the meeting and was seen going alone without talking to even his followers who were eagerly waiting outside.
