Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday said that the leaders from Telangana region were not expecting change in leadership or financial packages for the development of region.

Participating in 'Meet the Press' programme organized at Press Club at Somajiguda under the aegis of Telangana Journalists Forum, Ponnam Prabhakar said that the people and leaders from the region have been demanding formation of Telangana State and they would never agree for anything else. He said that the MPs from the Telangana region were ready to expose their own party on the commitment of Telangana state formation.

Ponnam called upon all leaders to fight unitedly for the Telangana demand under a common platform to achieve their goal. He demanded that the Telugu Desam Telangana Forum members mount pressure on TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu to write a letter to the Centre saying he has no objection for bifurcation of the State. He said those who are opposing the formation of State have no future in Telangana.

Warangal MP S Rajaiah demanded that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram convene an all-party meeting to elicit opinion of leaders on the Telangana issue.

Peddapalli MP G Vivek accused Seemandhra leaders of sending wrong reports over the situation in the Telangana region and diverting the attention of the Centre.
