Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday said that the outcome of election results in the five states would not have any impact on the State, where by-elections were being held for seven assembly segments, including the Telangana region.

Talking to media persons, the Chief Minister said that the success and defeat of parties depend on various issues and factors prevailing in those States. “The Congress has seen many such circumstances and would not lose confidence and faced them boldly. The defeat is a stepping stone for victory in the next elections,” he pointed out.

Stating that the victory and defeat were common in a democracy, the Chief Minister rubbished the statement of Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu that his 'cycle' would repeat same performance in next elections in the State on the lines of Samajwadi party in Uttar Pradesh. Stating that Naidu’s 'cycle' was rusted, the Chief Minister said that the voters of State would teach a fitting lesson to Naidu in the next elections.

Responding to by-elections in 17 assembly segments following disqualification of rebel MLAs, he said that the high command would finalise the aspirants' list soon. He said that Telangana issue was nothing to do with by-elections in Telangana region.

Stating that Congress party would go for the election campaign with developments works and welfare schemes, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the party would win in three to four constituencies in the by-elections. He said that the party would learn lessons from these elections and prepare a strategy for 2014 elections.

As part of strengthening the party, Kiran Kumar said that the PCC would be nominate in-charges for 17 assembly segments which are going for by-elections.
