Stating that more consultations were needed to arrive at a consensus on the sensitive issue, Azad said the consultation process would be continued on Monday. He said that 'appropriate action would be taken on Telangana at an appropriate time' after completion of consultation process. He said that there was no exact time frame to find a solution to the statehood issue.

After the completion of consultations with party leaders, he said the core committee would begin the process with UPA allies and other national level leaders. He said the second phase of consultations would not take much time.

Earlier, Azad ruled out imposition of President’s Rule in the state. "There is no need to impose President's rule in the state," he clarified.

Meanwhile, as part of consultation process, the high command on Saturday invited Seemandhra leader and Eluru MP Kavuri Sambhasiva Rao to New Delhi.  However, the High Command, so far, has not invited Seemandra Forum convenor S Sailajanath for the consultation process.
