“The police force will be imparted training and modern equipment would be provided to them to facilitate faster tracking down of the criminals,” the DGP said, alluding to the fact that growing crime rate was the concern of the rulers of the day.

The state’s top cop, concerned over the crime going up, said that he would review the topic with the Commissioners concerned in the Twin Cities and take measures to control the unsocial elements with an iron hand. He appeared quite confident and sent signals that he would deliver the results as desired by all concerned.

The police buildings will also be modernized in view of the threat perception from the terrorists on one hand and the Maoists on the other, Mr Dinesh Reddy added.

Further, his aim was that the common man approaching the police stations must return satisfied. Following his day one’s commitment, that he would deal with the ‘unsocial’ elements effectively, all the police stations and police personnel may face an overhaul.
