YSR Cong victories on predictable lines: Azad

Congress In-Charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday stated that he had predicted the victory of YSR Congress Party candidates Jaganmohan Reddy and Vijayalakshmi “long ago.”

Talking to media persons here after trends showed that the Kadapa Parliamentary and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies would be won the YSR Congress Party candidates, Mr Azad stated that the people of Kadapa had showed their respect and sympathy towards Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and Ms Vijayalakshmi, by voting for them en-masse.

He added that the Congress party had fielded candidates since it was a national party.

Mr Azad also denied that there is any truth to the reports that no one can win from the Kadapa constituency if the family of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy contests. “This is a myth and it is baseless,” he stated.

The senior leader added that the Congress will respect the verdict given by the people of Kadapa and take it in a right spirit. “We will make efforts for strengthening the Congress in the district and the state,” he said.
