Commemorative stamp on YSR released

The postal department released a stamp in Visakhapatnam to commemorate the first death anniversary of the former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday.

Releasing the Rs 5 commemorative stamp at a function, Visakhapatnam Post Master General Sharda Sampath lauded Ysr’s services to the state, particularly to the poor and middleclass by envisaging and implementing various welfare schemes for their uplift.

According to sources, the stamp was designed by Visakhapatnam-based philatelist G Durga Prasad.

Along with the stamp, the department would bring out philatelic products like first day cover, information brochure, album (with ancillaries) and blow-up of Ysr pictures, Ms Sharda said.
