Tollywood raining with releases

Last two months April and by end of this May, as many as 40 films are to hit the theatres. With raising mercury levels, people are moving to Air Condiion theatres to get some relief respite the boring movies. In this situation of April-May 2009, 21 films are released. Tollywood is suddenly looking up with Balakrishna starrer Simha released on April 30 springing a surprise and being declared hit.

As many as 19 films were released in April. And so far this month, in just 12 days six films were released and 15 more are expected to hit the screens. It has been particularly bad for Tollywood in recent months with Telangana agitation badly hitting the releases.

Smart producers in recent times are spacing releases so that they do not clash with big starrer films. Example is producer Dil Raju scurried to safety to release his movie ‘Rama Rama Krishna Krishna’ on May 12 instead of taking it on with ‘Simha.’

At the moment Simha, Prabhas starrer Darling are raking in the moolah while Dasari’s Young India is slated for release on May 15 while ‘Andari Bandhuvaya and Ahaa Entha Andam’ are releasing today that is May 14.

Big films scheduled for release this month are Vedam of Allu Arjun and Manoj, Gopichand, Puri combo Golimaar and Nitin starrer Maaro.
