Trisha & Mom selling Basmati!

Uma Krishnan, mum of heroine Trisha Krishnan is considered a beautiful artist. Even when directors like Gautham Menon and Priyadarshan offered her a role to act in their movies, she declined. ‘I just spend time for the career of my daughter,’ Uma says. Finally, the mother-daughter duo is to make their first appearance together in an ad for famous Kohinoor Basmati rice. 

Concept framed by director Vijay was suitable for mother and daughter. So, they zeroed upon Uma, Trisha for South and Soha Ali Khan, Sharmila Tagore for North. Inner sources say Uma refused early on but it took time to convince her. ‘When she heard the concept, Uma readily agreed,’ said ad agency authorities. Ad and photo shoot was done in Chennai. ‘I really enjoyed doing the shoot with my mom,’ Trisha smiles.
