Earlier Vijay's Jana Nayagan faced censor hurdles on multiple occasions.In the midst of all this, a member of the Censor Board &nbsp;revealed how the Censor Board is issuing the certifications and passing the films for theatrical release.CBFC board member Raaj Mishra speaking to scribes shared “It is a crime to exhibit a film for public viewing without CBFC certification. It is a punishable offence.” Explaining the board’s structure, he said, “The chairman of the CBFC is appointed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Currently, the chairman is Prasoon Joshi.”He continued &nbsp;“Every film is viewed by a committee of five members. If at least three of the five members approve it, the film is granted a certificate,”Elaborating the certification categories, he said “There are three types of certificates. The first is ‘U’ (Universal), which means people of all ages can watch the film. Then there is ‘A’, which is strictly for adults aged 18 and above. The third is ‘UA’, which means the film can be viewed by children under the guidance of an adult.”He added , “A film dominated by crime and violence generally falls under the ‘A’ category. If the film contains only mild violence or crime, it may receive a ‘UA’ certificate, allowing children to watch it under parental guidance. It is essentially a safety clause. At present, these are the three certification categories.”He shared &nbsp;“If the five-member committee does not clear a film, the filmmaker can apply for a re-examination. The film is then reviewed by an eleven-member committee. If it is still not cleared, the makers can approach the tribunal in Delhi. However, such cases are quite rare,”He continued “The theme and narration must suit the contemporary world. Rules evolve with time. Today, mild violence is generally accepted, but if a film depicts extremely graphic acts, such as pulling out someone’s jaw, we have to ensure that such scenes do not have a harmful impact on viewers.”He added “A film should not propagate anti-national ideas or demean the nation or its policies. A film may have limited entertainment value, but it should not encourage unrest or incite people. The film which hit the roadblock longtime back finally completed the censor formalities much to the delight of all the Thalapathy fans.The film is directed by H.Vinoth and stars Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju as the female leads. The film got an A certificate and runtime has been locked at 183.11 minutes.Censor Board gave A certificate only after the makers of Jana Nayagan deleted many scenes. The main change recorded in the certification note is at time code 110:23, where the dialogue "Ambedkar satam...to... TVK sattam" was replaced. The usage of TVK was removed in both audio and video. The change was muted and modified, with no change in duration.The certification note also lists a series of other audio and visual changes. A dialogue was modified to state that "Ambedkar is shown on the cover page of the book wherever it appears", with no change in duration. Visuals of the Indian flag falling on the ground were deleted. However later the introduction of characters slowed the pace of the narration. But the twists and turns involving the lead character and others and the negative shades increases the curiosity levels. The police investigation and others in the first half brings and end setting the tone for the exciting second half.However, the second half goes for a toss with the hero kidnap scene and various sub plots. While the first half is natural, the second half had shades of artificiality and illogical scenes. Couple of scenes in the second half turns it into a decent one.Ramess' Editing could have been far better as there are many scenes that slowed the pace of the film especially in the second half. Cinematography showed the scenes in a natural and realistic manner and Dinesh Purushottaman followed the standard template and took viewers into the story. The hero's elevations and the rest of the characters revolving around him just seems to be inspired from other hit commercial films. The entire first half turns out to be outdated to the core and viewers will be expecting a better second half at the interval.The second half starts with a couple of twists and generates interest. However, the missing emotions and the weak characterizations marred the intensity and impact power. The pre climax and climax turns out to be ok with the so-called twists. Dialogues are just average.Thaman's tunes for the songs are just ok. None of them get registered in the minds of the viewers except for the song VaareVaa VaareVaa. Many songs appear to abruptly impact the pace of the narration. The story offered nothing new as many films came in the recent past highlighting the power of God and how ultimately he eliminates the evil forces who try to wreak havoc to posses the supreme powers.Films like Mirai and Hanuman turned out to be hits and of late many filmmakers are trying to milk people's interest in Sanatana Dharma and the secrets with dialogues pertaining to them but most of them are failing in their mission. If mythological and elements on God in a story comes naturally then it will connect chords with the people. However, all the so called Sanatana elements are forced and this ends up testing the patience of the viewers.Nagabandham also fell in the second category unfortunately. There is no clarity how the hero became the protector of the all powerful Brahma Kamalam right from the first half. The film lacked the drive and direction and it drifted in various directions and the screenplay turned out to be topsy turvy. Emotions play a key role in the films and the film lacked them completely. Only when emotions are strong and realistic, natural, it will help in taking forward the drama or action sequences.With emotions missing , the scenes come and go one after another and viewers are left wondering what was happening. The extreme violence in the marriage looked totally unnecessary and unwanted except for the gory scenes which the director felt would have made an impact on the viewers emotionally.Though the first half had no story, visuals are extravagant and the interval bang covered all the loopholes setting the stage for the second half. However the second half turned out to be extremely slow and all the characters turned unnecessarily loud shouting at the top of their voices. Director included family scenes revolving around children but none of them created an impact. The flashback episode lacked clarity and it is also filled with mindless violence.The climax action episode itself came to more than 30 minutes and the story revolved around it but none of them connected chords with the viewers. Everything goes with loud shouts and intense and senseless action. On top of it, they gave immense torture with irrelevant dialogues on Sanatana Dharma.The background score tuned by Junaid Kumar elevated the scenes to the next level creating the maximum impact. However, at times it turned loud and routine. The cinematography of Soundar Rajan S is top class. The VFX and CGI are of top class most of the time, except in few scenes where they looked pale and substandard.Junaid Kumar - Abhe's songs acted as speed breaks to the narration. Except for the Namo song, others failed to impress and some songs came with in 2-3 minutes gap. Editing left a lot to be desired, especially in the second half. The narration despite all this is made interesting with few twists and turns unraveling them at the right time in all the episodes.Though it raises curiosity among viewers, the missing emotional connectivity disappoints all.The music of Praveen Lakkaraju is in sync with the story and Narration. There are many scenes that looked artificial and staged and looked awkward on the screen.He spent most of the time, showing the admiration of the subordinates to the protagonist and all these looked unnecessary and irrelevant. At times, the scenes and the screenplay looked clumsy and convenient insulting the intelligence of the viewers. There are also many illogical scenes and this impacted the final output. The director failed to execute the decent story with the screenplay and direction.The behavior of the protagonist in various scenes looked silly and this impacted the basic investigation and the whole idea. Some of the so called scenes and the scenes looked absurd and even kids would laugh it out loudly.The cinematography of PM. He still followed the same hero elevations, three songs, six fights, item song and cheap comedy scenes.With in five minutes into the story, viewers will be treated the same monotonous scenes that test their patience to the core. It increases with the passage of time and reaches its peak in the second half. The interval comes as a break from this torture. The story lacks basic emotions and everything looks artificial.Everyone passes through the motions and the director's cheap taste is revealed when he showed the rape scene in detail even though it was shown initially. There are many such scenes and that include the CM candidate directing her aides to molest her to gain sympathy. Finally viewers heave a sigh of relief when the film comes to an end.Vijay Mukthavarapu's didn't get much scope to showcase his talent. This is because the story offered nothing new and as the scenes assume monotonous flavour, had Vijay applied his editing scissors, there wouldn't have been any film.The cinematography of Karthik Sujatha Saikumar is ok and the background score by Kalyan Nayak followed the predictable template. The unraveling of the twists attracts all but from the fifth episode the entertainment takes back seat with thought provoking scenes and few message-oriented dialogues. The final episode ends on an emotional note. At times the fun scenes did not generate the desired result as there are many repetitive scenes that slowed the pace of the film. Compared to the first two seasons, there is more entertainment content in this and so viewers can enjoy. However, some dialogues crossed the line and this makes viewers uneasy.Sriram Madduri's music is decent and the background music added value to the narration. The runup to the interval block that includes the flashback turns out to be the biggest drawback. With the passage of time, the first half turns underwhelming as emotions fail to connect with Samantha's current and past happenings.From then on, the second half revolves around how the protagonist achieves success overcome all the obstacles. The complete second half turns out to be predictable and lacks the real twists and turns. None of the scenes excites, and even the actors seem to have passed through the motions.The so-called twist, similar to a hit film, didn't offer anything new. The Madras High Court cleared the release of Idhayam Murali on July 10, 2026. Director Sudha Kongara sought a stay citing unpaid dues of ₹8.39 crore from Dawn Pictures related to her film Parasakthi. The court refused interim relief and said the financial dispute needs detailed hearing. Sudha Kongara alleged the production house defaulted on payments after shifting the project. She argued the dues must be cleared before any new release. However, the bench noted that a money claim requires full evidence and cannot block a film’s theatrical debut without proper adjudication. Dawn Pictures countered that Sudha Kongara was already paid and that she moved to another banner after taking an advance. The producers also cited losses from piracy and legal issues faced during Parasakthi’s production. They urged the court not to link two separate projects. Despite the legal tussle, Idhayam Murali released as scheduled. The Atharvaa starrer is a romantic drama backed by Dawn Pictures. Trade analysts expect the clearance to help the film capitalize on weekend shows. The court will continue hearing the payment dispute separately in coming weeks.
