Alia Bhatt Paid 8 Times More Than Sharvari Wagh For Alpha

Alia Bhatt reportedly charged Rs 25 crore for Alpha, over eight times more than co-star Sharvari Wagh’s Rs 3 crore fee, per Asianet News. Alpha is the first female-led film in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe and hits theatres this Friday. While YRF marketed it as a dual-lead project, Alia’s star power and the teaser’s focus on her character explain the pay gap. Sharvari, a relative newcomer, shares screen space with Alia in the Shiv Rawail directorial.
Bobby Deol, playing the antagonist in Alpha, was reportedly paid Rs 6 crore for his role. Veteran actor Anil Kapoor also received Rs 6 crore for his part in the spy thriller. Hrithik Roshan has a special cameo, further expanding the YRF Spy Universe connection. The film’s massive scale and action sequences mark Alia Bhatt’s first full-fledged action movie, adding to the buzz around her remuneration.
Speaking about Alpha, Alia Bhatt said the film pushed her in new ways. “There was something really exciting about stepping into this world of action, scale and adventure. It pushed me in ways I hadn’t experienced before and I loved every bit of it,” she stated. The actress underwent intense physical training for the role, with BTS videos showing her doing MMA and weapon combat. Alpha joins YRF’s successful Spy Universe franchise that includes Ek Tha Tiger, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3, and War 2.
Trade analysts note that Alia’s Rs 25 crore fee puts her among the highest-paid actresses in India, comparable to top male stars in action franchises. Despite the pay disparity, Sharvari’s role is said to be crucial, with reports suggesting she plays a fellow agent. With a reported budget over Rs 200 crore, Alpha is betting big on its female leads to expand the Spy Universe. The film releases worldwide on July 4, 2026, with strong advance bookings already reported.
