Dhanush shares Idli Kottu secrets

Dhanush is getting ready to entertain  movie lovers with his film Idli Kadai which is releasing in Telugu as Ildi Kottu. The film helmed by Dhanush himself is releasing on 1 Oct 2025.

The film's audio launch was celebrated in Chennai and Dhanush delighted all by dancing on the stage along with his son Linga. In a video from the event, Dhanush and GV Prakash performed a song live for the audience. Towards the end of the song, Dhanush broke into an impromptu dance and nudged his son to join him. Together, the dad-son duo delighted the fans with synchronised steps.

As he finished performing the song, Dhanush hugged his son, while the latter touched his father's feet as a mark of respect. Speaking to scribes, Dhanush said  “As a kid, I always craved idlis every single day, but I couldn’t afford them. Hence, we started collecting flowers from the neighbourhood. The money we get will be based on the amount of flowers we collect every day. My sister, cousins and I would wake up at 4 AM to do this for over two hours.”

He revealed  “We'd get a little over ₹2 each for the jobs. Then, we'd head to a local pump set, bathe and walk with just a towel on the main road. For that money, we would get four to five idlis. Nothing can beat the satisfaction and taste that is gotten out of eating food from our own hard-earned money. I'm not getting the happiness & taste now in restaurants, which I had during my childhood,”
