80 students became ill after consuming midday meal

Doudapalli (Mahabubnagar), Aug 22 :

 In a case of food poisoning, 80 students of Doudapalli high school in Gadwal mandalam in Mahabubnagar district took ill after consuming the midday meal and had to be hospitalized on Saturday.

The matter came to light when students began vomiting and complaining of stomach pain soon after consuming the midday meal. Sources told TNN that the students

complained to their teachers that the food had a ‘bad smell.’ They were taken to the Gadwal hospital for treatment. At the hospital, students were seen pressing their stomachs in pain and vomiting while undergoing treatment.

"The symptoms are of food poisoning and the students have been administered medicine" according to the hospital sources. They further said that two students were given injections because of pain while one kid was put on saline. All the students were out of danger, according to the reliable sources.
