SCR to develop 8 'model stations'

The South Central Railway would develop eight railway stations under its purview as model stations this year.
Talking to reporters on Wednesday after Railway Minister Mamatha Banerjee tabled her Budget, Scr General Manager Jayanth said the Scr received Rs 700 crore this year as against Rs 180 crore last year for new railway lines.

He said the Scr has got 21 new express trains in the Budget which include six extensions.
The Scr division received a lion's share of funds this year with Rs 3,388 crore to take up various development projects in the region, he pointed out.
