Mysore, July 31 :-

The career of an Engineering student, Avinash Kashyap, is in deep trouble now as he played a prank with none other than the President of India, Ms Prathiba Patil. He has allegedly sent an offensive e-mail to Ms Patil recently.

A special investigating team, dealing with the case, arrived here from Delhi after it tracked down the origin of e-mail to Mysore. The mail was sent from a computer in Mysore and from Avinash email-id.

Avinash is presently pursuing M.Tech at the R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.

The city police have assisted the Delhi police in finding out the address of the accused and have interrogated his parents, who reside in Vijaynagar here. Police sources quoting the boy’s parents said that Avinash Kashyap was a brilliant student and never had complaints against him. The parents have expressed shock over the developments, the police said.

The Delhi police have taken Avinash’s father to Bangalore for assisting their investigation. However, the boy’s batch mates here informed TNN on Friday that Avinash was a decent and well-obeyed person and suspected that the e-mail must not have intently sent to the President of India.

The police on Thursday have interrogated the teachers of Avinash and felt that some culpable person must have hacked Avinash’s mail-id and committed the mischief.
