Hyderabad,Oct 23: The four units of 900-MW Srisailam Left Bank Power House, which was shut down earlier this month following inundation by floods, are functioning with full capacity, stated AP Genco chairman and Managing Director K Vijayanand here on Friday.Talking to media persons after attending a review meeting with Chief Minister K Rosaiah on power situation in the state and restoration works taken by AP Genco at Srisailam power station, Vijayanand said that restoration works will help bring this major hydel project back into the grid.He said that two more unit starts generating power within a couple of days.

The Srisailam power generation would partly bridge the current demand-supply mismatch in the State power requirement, he added.However, the 770 MW Right Bank Power House, which was fully inundated on October 3, is likely to take at least three months for restoration.The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete the restoration works on Right Bank Power House by January 31,2010, he said.The Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, who reviewed the power sector performance, agreed to extend necessary support to AP Genco for setting up new power projects.
