Raveena Tandon blasted Bollywood hypocricy after partying hard as she won the prestigious Padmasri award from the Indian Government. She then exposed Bollywood's hypocrisy and rape culture. She said "No no, Please I was called a lot of things. 90s ke kholo, TTs, thunder thighs...miss this and miss that..." The actor continued, "I was plump actually. Started at 16 and a half years, and I was full of baby fat yaar... which still hasn't gone. Though I don't care now, I am being like that, I am like that, too bad!"

She said she was insulted for setting conditions for kissing and rape scenes and even for wearing bikinis. She shared "I used to be uncomfortable with a lot of things. For example, dance steps. If I was uncomfortable with something I would say listen. I am not comfortable with this step. I would not do the step. I didn't want to wear swimming costumes, and I didn't do kissing scenes. So I had my fundas. I was the only actress who had a couple of rape scenes with not even one tear in the dress. All my clothes used to be fully intracranial'

She added "Mera dress phatega nahi..tum karlo rape scene agar karna hai. So they used to call me arrogant. 'Darr' had come to me first, though it was not vulgar, earlier there were some scenes in 'Darr', which I was not comfortable with. I never used to wear a swimming costume. I would say, 'no, I will not wear a swimming costume'. Even 'Prem Qaidi', the first film with which I think Karisma Kapoor got launched, was actually offered to me first. But even in that, there was just one scene where the hero pulls down the zipper and the strap is showing, I was uncomfortable with that."

She said many times heroes used to remove her as they used to have affairs with other heroines and they would come and request her to drop from the film. She said she opted out of Darr due to some objectionable scenes and she added later the same role was done by Juhi Chawla. She said "Though [the film] was not vulgar, earlier, there were some scenes in 'Darr' that I was not comfortable with," she stated. "I never used to wear a swimming costume, I would say, 'No, I will not wear a swimming costume',"
