Acid Test For Karthi

Karthi enjoys star Hero status in Telugu too. Early films in his career became Superhits and provided him a very strong foundation in Tollywood. His films get very good openings when released simultaneously. After a series of flops he bounced back at the boxoffice with Superhits, Khakee and Khaidi. Then followed by a couple of failures Donga and Sulthan. His latest release Viruman wasn't even released in Telugu in theatres. But, it's Telugu version is currently available in Amazon Prime as Pasalapudi Veerababu. 

Karthi's latest is Sardar which is releasing simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. Touted to be a spy thriller, it is directed by Abhimanyudu fame PS Mithran. Nagarjuna is releasing the film in Telugu under Annapurna Studios. Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan are female leads. The racy trailer also looks promising. But, the film isn't having a big release. The release is limited and considering the genre, a positive talk on its first day is must for this film. Otherwise chances are very bleak to work at the boxoffice as it can't survive with divide talk like commercial entertainers. 

The prospects of the film at the boxoffice are limited as this genre is only have a limited set of audience. Karthi also badly needs a Hit at the boxoffice. The genre and limited release is hampering Sardar's chances at the boxoffice.
