Karthi Confirmed For Ayyappanum Koshiyum Remake

Malayalam super hit Ayyappanum Koshiyum will be remade in several languages including Telugu and Tamil. For Telugu version, Power Star Pawan Kalyan and Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the lead roles. Now, actors to step into the shoes of Biju Menon and Prithviraj Sukumaran in Tamil version have been confirmed.

The film will have Karthi reprising Prithviraj’s role, while Parthiban will be reprising Biju Menon’s role. Initially Sasikumar and Sarathkumar were in talks. The director of the original, Sachy had said that he would love to see Karthi and Parthiban if the film is remade in Tamil. And, as he wished, Karthi and Parthiban come on board for the Tamil remake.

Producer Kathiresan of Five Star Films has bagged the Tamil remake rights. This will be second film together for Karthi and Parthiban after Aayirathil Oruvan (Yuganiki Okkadu).

Karthi will begin shooting for the film only after wrapping up Mani Ratnam’s latest directorial Ponniyin Selvan. Karthi also has Sultan with Bakkiyaraj Kannan that will hit the screens once theatres reopen.
