Suriya Scene Turns Profitable Before Release

Suriya’s Scene is gearing up for a grand Diwali release on November 6, 2026. The Jithu Madhavan directorial has cleared its censor formalities with a U/A 16+ certificate and a runtime of 149.16 minutes (2 hours 29 minutes). The film is Suriya’s third theatrical release this year, following Karuppu and Vishwanathan and Sons.

One of the biggest advantages for Scene is its controlled production budget. The film is reportedly made on a budget of around ₹50 crore, excluding Suriya’s remuneration, as he is also one of its producers. The film brings together an interesting cast featuring Nazriya Nazim, Naslen, Anandraj and Lal, with Jithu Madhavan directing after Malayalam hits Romancham and Aavesham.

The makers have reportedly recovered the entire production investment through non theatrical rights, including digital, satellite and music deals. This puts Scene in a comfortable position before its theatrical release. However, the film needs to collect approximately ₹200 crore in worldwide gross to achieve hit status based on its reported theatrical business agreements.

Advance bookings have started on a promising note, particularly in Kerala, where the film reportedly collected over ₹2 crore in pre sales within the first 24 hours. The latest reported advance booking gross has reached ₹5 crore, including ₹2 crore from Kerala and ₹3 crore from Tamil Nadu. The return of early morning shows in Tamil Nadu, along with the Diwali holiday advantage, could further help its opening. A positive audience response will be important for Scene to reach its box office target.
