Lovely and lascivious London hottie Nikesha Patel had a dream debut romancing Power Star Pawan Kalyan in Puli. However, the film bombed at the box office and this impacted her rise to stardom in the industry.

Speaking about it, she said: “I still cannot wonder why I didn't get success in the south. Though I made my entry romancing a top star, I did not get the recognition. Seems while lady luck knocked the front door, bad luck entered from the backdoor and remained stuck in my house. In fact, the moment I got the opportunity to romance Pawan Kalyan, everyone grew jealous of me. Who wouldn't turn envious when someone gets a chance to romance Pawan Kalyan when so many were dreaming? However, the film did not do well and the flop tag affected me. I realized my dream of making my debut opposite a top star but though the film bombed, I got branded as a mega heroine. Even that recognition did not bring any luck. It took decades to come out of it".

On coming all the way from London, Nikesha said: “I came from London to do Bollywood films. But the circumstances made me shift to the South. However, the films I did in Telugu, did not establish me. I did films in Tamil, Kannada and did Hollywood films, trying my luck in Bollywood. But when I was trying for offers, few accused me of overacting and so I did not get any roles. Not only in Bollywood, but many also accused me similarly in Hollywood".

Regarding the casting couch, she said: “There are many who harass actresses. Many asked me to compromise for offers. But I couldn't do it. I feel this is one of the reasons, why I didn't get offers. For those who come with a lot of dreams, such incidents hurt the most. But I do not think everyone will face the same problem. Those who have filmi background may not face them. At the same time, those who got reputation and senior heroines do not face that problem. However few do not even respect newcomers. They behave in such a manner forcing them to think why they entered this field".

On her marriage she said: “People are spreading rumours even when I did not speak anything. Even the remarks I did in a lighter vein are taken seriously. Even if I say something, it will only become news and not a reality. When I plan to get married, I will inform everyone. I do not need to hide my marriage. Before entering films, I had a boyfriend. He did not like me entering films and he parted ways with me. From then on I lost trust in love and marriage".
