Since communal riots have been intensified in North East Delhi over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), shoot-at-sight order was announced by Delhi SP at Yamuna Vihar area. In addition to it, a curfew has been imposed in four areas of North East Delhi such as Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Chand Bagh, and Karawal Nagar. 

In order to bring the situation under control, the Delhi police sealed three borders which adjoin the North East Delhi

Beforehand, rioters torched several shops and vehicles including a petrol bunk. They pelted stones at the police. In order to ensure the normalcy in situation, the police had to fire teargas. 

In a sad state of affairs, 13 people were killed and more than 190 were sustained injuries. Fears are stricken if the death toll would rise further. 

In the wake of Delhi riots, the CBSE board deferred class 10 and 12 examinations indefinitely.
