Nithin's recent release Bheeshma directed by Venky Kudumula is having a good run at the box office. Even as the makers are becoming happy with the performance, the film is hitting another stumbling block.
Telangana Gangaputra Welfare Association lodged a complaint against Bheeshma makers at the Malakpet police station. The association president Pentam Rajesh in his complaint alleged that the makers hurt the sentiments of the Hindus with the film. He demanded police to take legal action against director Venky Kudumula, producer Suryadevara Nagavamsi, actor Nithin, PDP Prasad and Editor Naveen Nooli.
He objected to the filmmakers naming the film title and character of lover boy role as Bheeshma who remained a bachelor throughout his life in Mahabharata. He said the dialogues will have a bad effect on the society and the youth. He cited the film scene in which the hero speaking with his mother questions “When there are many names like Duryodhana, Dussasana, Yamadharmaraja, Sani, Sakuni, why did they name him as Bheehma, a bachelor".
Malakpet police said they will take action following investigation. Even ahead of the film release, a complaint was lodged by BJP Dharmik Cell against Bheeshma citing the same reasons.
