He Refused Marriage With Sridevi

Celebrity couple Jeevitha and Rajasekhar supports each other. While Jeevitha quit films, Rajasekhar of late is doing different genre films. Meanwhile, Jeevitha speaking to scribes revealed many secrets of her husband who is popular as the angry star.

She said, "For Talambralu, Kalyan Chakravarthi played the lead role and antagonist role which was important was played by Dr Rajasekhar. I earlier worked with Rajasekhar in Tamil under the direction of Ramarajan. He played the role of my husband. When I was suffering from cold and fever, he examined and prescribed few medicines.

During the first day shooting, Rajasekhar couldn't perform the scene. He was not seen the next day. On the third day, Radha Ravi came in place of Rajasekhar. When I asked the unit, they told me, he did not suit for the role. Then we got the opportunity to work for Talambralu. Then Rajasekhar revealed the secret. 'When the director asked how's the heroine, I told she is ok but could have been better. The next day I did not get the car'. When asked 'Sorry sir, we removed you from the project'. When I told him to replace you, they removed me from the project".

On Rajasekhar fighting for her, Jeevitha said, "Current generation youngsters think they are very advanced. But we have done many things which they never did. Rajasekhar's family members initially didn't agree for our marriage. However, Rajasekhar ensured that they gave their consent. However, their parents put a condition that they should give green signal to the girl. He told me that he promised his mother that he will not marry an actress. He said he feels that a girl like me would suit me and now he is feeling for the promise. So I too did not tell my feelings for him. Talambralu, Ahuti, Ankusam turned hits and our combination became a hit pair. In my house there was no problem as we came from an ordinary family. Father was a health inspector and I became actress accidentally. Rajasekhar despite her mother telling him that she was not concerned whether he becomes a hero or villain but he shouldn't marry an actress fought for me and finally married me".

On calling Rajasekhar fraud, she said, “In Talambralu his role was similar to that. From then on I used to call him like this. He was hospitalized after he got injured during Magaadu shooting. His parents were not there and came after he underwent surgery. I was in the hospital and called him 'fraud... fraud…' in front of them. Later his mother called me and said 'Everything is fine. Why are you calling him fraud. I did not like it. Call him properly.’ From then on I started calling him as Bangaram."

On Rajasekhar rejecting alliance of Sridevi for her, she said, “It is true. During that time he did not enter films. He was a practicing doctor. Sridevi's father and Rajasekhar's father were close friends. Her father came with a proposal that he is ready to get his daughter either Sridevi or her sister Srilekha to marry Rajasekhar. However since Sridevi was a star by that time, he rejected as he doubted whether she would suit his mindset. Later after many years, he met me."

On selling off their house in Jubilee Hills, she said, “Aaptudu turned out to be a disaster. We were in a lot of debts. So we had to sell the house. Our father in law put a condition that we cannot sell our properties in Chennai. So we sold our house in Hyderabad"

On rumors about Rajasekhar's deteriorating health, "Doctors did not tell that it was difficult to survive. Rajasekhar suffered heart attack before his mother passed away. Even before that he suffered from severe stomach pain when he was in Chennai. Generally he cures himself with medicines. However for the first time, he decided to go to the hospital. After the tests, they suspected it to be cancer. Doctors said they cannot tell anything till 24 hours as they waited for another report. Those 24 hours were like a nightmare. We were just crying. However, Shivani was strong and she came running and told that it was not cancer and doctor told that there was no danger to his life".
